Live In London 1970
With the passing of the late, great Ozzy Osbourne in 2025, not long after the farewell Black Sabbath hometown event in Birmingham, still leaving a seismic hole in the metal community, what better means of commemorating the legendary vocalist than experiencing this fly-on-the-wall earful of the metal pioneers at their early peak. Lifted from a BBC recording session at London’s Paris Theatre in 1970, the iconic line-up featuring guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler and drummer Bill Ward blast through bombastic versions of seminal cuts from both their self-titled debut album and equally iconic follow-up Paranoid. ‘Iron Man’, ‘War Pigs’, ‘Behind The Wall Of Sleep’, as well as the title-tracks from both LPs, it’s like a live mini-greatest hits, topped off with a lush cover of ‘Blue Suede Shoes’, where Ozzy lets out his inner Elvis.
