Everyone’s favourite Devil… The Tasmanian Devil!
2024: Throughout 2021 Rue Morgue Records sponsored 12 Tasmanian Devils. This was done monthly. The first sale of every month was donated to the Devils@Cradle program and each customer who happened to be the first sale, received a photo and bio of their sponsored Devil along with their order from Rue Morgue Records.
We ran out of devils to sponsor! But, there are new offspring so throughout 2024, we will again sponsor another 12 devils beginning in January of 2024!
This was a huge success for Rue Morgue Records, our customers and more importantly, the Tassie Devil!
We raised $600 for Devils@Cradle in 2021, we’re back in 2024 to do it all again!
For 2024, a random customer will be chosen on the last day of the month.

Manina (meaning “earth” in palawa kani, the language of Tasmanian Aborigines) very much lives up to his name – he is a very grounded devil. As a young joey he was one of the shyest in the litter, mostly only coming out at night once all the people had gone home, but he eventually started coming out of his shell and is now a quiet but confident and respectful young man. At only two years old, keepers have decided he is confident enough to be given the chance of breeding with some luck ladies and he is definitely a devil to keep an eye on this breeding season!

Atlas is our youngest devil at the Sanctuary, being just 6 months old! He has been hand raised as part of the Ambassador Program for Tasmanian devils and makes an appearance on our Joey Encounter, educating our guests on the importance of his species. He started off as a very shy, nervous little guy who only had love for his foster mother Gemma, but lately has become the biggest sook towards all keepers and runs straight over to them as they enter his enclosure to give him is morning milk!

Barnsey was born in 2021, he was the only joey in his litter.
He was hand-reared to become an ambassador animal on our Joey Encounter Tour, the transition to become an outside Joey after his lush accommodation with his Foster mum where he was fed quail and allowed to sleep on the bed, was a little hard for Barnsey.
He has been living in our Joey Nursery now for a few months and will soon be relocating into a main enclosure.
2021: Seeing as Rue Morgue Records is branded by all sorts of ‘devil’ insignia, we thought we would do our bit for conservationism and put our money where our mouth is. In short, we decided to Adopt A Devil and sponsor it to the best of our ability from the Devils @ Cradle Wildlife Park in Tasmania.
Devils @ Cradle is a unique Tasmanian conservation sanctuary located at the entrance to the spectacular World Heritage listed Cradle Mountain National Park. Whilst they concentrate primarily on the Tasmanian devil, the sanctuary is also home to the closely related Spotted-tail and Eastern quolls. Tasmania’s three largest carnivorous marsupials are all now threatened in one way or another in the wild.
The first Devil we have decided to sponsor is Neptune and he is pictured below. The cost of sponsoring a Devil for the duration of a year is $50 but instead of just paying a one-off fee and sponsoring just one Devil, we are going to take donate $50 per month until we have 12 Devils in our fold.
The very first sale we make each month that totals $50, that money will be donated to Devils @ Cradle and the customer who’s money was donated will be listed on this page AND we will send you the kit that Devils @ Cradle send to us with your record which paid for the sponosorship! Cool huh?
It is just a small way of giving and donating to a cause we here at Rue Morgue Records believes in.

Neptune has been sponsored and named by Tasmanian biotechnology company Marinova.Neptune was born extremely late in the 2018 breeding season, making him one of the youngest two year old’s currently living at the sanctuary. Over the last few months he has resided in one of our main ‘bachelor pads’, more often than not, seen hanging out with his brother Gustav.

Macy and her brother Archy were both part of our Corporate Sponsorship program in 2019. Macy has been sponsored and named by Nev, Lyndal, Marlee, Cardie and Jemma Green. She’s very cute and was rather reserved when she was younger, but has started to take on a bit more of her mothers confident and assertive personality!

Ossie Pickett is one of our young from 2020 and has been hand-reared by our keepers. He is a cheeky young male, never failing to crack out his gorgeous devil smile. Ossie has been named after a local legend here at Cradle Mountain who apparently used to get up to quite a bit of mischief – our little fella is certainly following in those footsteps!

Mod is quite a shy little female around keepers, but this doesn’t stop her competing with the boys in her enclosure for food. She has no trouble letting them know who’s boss at the dinner table! Celestial is a very confident female devil who is celebrating her second birthday in 2021. She has been given breeding recommendations this year with the season commencing in mid-February. This will be her first season breeding and we have high hopes for her! She’s already shown us that she can give the boys a bit of a run-around when she wants to, so we’re making sure we pair her up with a male that’s experienced in this particular aspect of being a devil.

Rayne is the oldest of our 2018 cohort housed within the sanctuary, and as a result of being partially hand-reared by one of our keepers, she is quite the confident devil! She often shows off her confidence on our After Dark Feeding tours, sneaking up behind her keepers to try to steal food from them. Rayne is the only devil here at the sanctuary with the less common trait of being completely black, with no white markings!

Archy is one of our bachelor devils currently housed in the sanctuary. He was made available in our Corporate Sponsorship program earlier in his life and was lucky enough to be sponsored and named by the Archer family in loving memory of their husband, daddy and poppa, Wayne “Archy” Archer. Archy is a cheeky little fella, often making an appearance with his brothers from other mothers on our Day Feeding Tours.
