Peter Wells’ unmistakable slide guitar gives Rose Tattoo a sound entirely their own, while Mick Cocks’ muscular riffs and Angry Anderson’s snarling vocals bring an almost punk-like aggression to proceedings. The album’s influence extended well beyond Australia, with Guns N’ Roses famously covering “Nice Boys” and citing Rose Tattoo as an important influence on their early sound. Originally released internationally under the title Rock ‘n’ Roll Outlaw, this is the record that introduced the Tatts to the world.
