Judas Priest: Live In Los Angeles ’90 (Transparent Purple Vinyl)

$80.99

Previously only available on CD as part of the 50 Heavy Metal Years Of Music boxset, this transparent purple vinyl edition captures Judas Priest’s performance at the Foundations Forum, Los Angeles on 13th September 1990 on their Painkiller tour.

Judas Priest’s Live In Los Angeles ’90 lands as a Record Store Day 2026 exclusive on 18 April 2026, pressed on transparent purple vinyl. This performance was previously only available on CD in the 50 Heavy Metal Years Of Music box set, and the new release documents the band at the Foundations Forum in Los Angeles on 13 September 1990 during the Painkiller tour.

This is a seriously strong archival release because it catches Priest in one of their most ferocious phases. By 1990 the band had shed any remaining softness from the Turbo years and were back in full attack mode. Painkiller was not just a comeback album, it was a total reset, and this live set sounds like a band out to prove exactly that. You get the speed, the precision, the screaming lead work, and that unmistakable sense that Rob Halford is trying to tear the roof off the place. Even on paper, the setlist is vicious. In practice, it is the sound of a legendary metal band reminding everybody how dangerous they could still be.

What makes this one especially appealing is the balance in the material. It is not just a Painkiller souvenir. You get fresh blood like “Between the Hammer and the Anvil” and “Leather Rebel,” but also older staples like “Grinder,” “Metal Gods,” “Hell Bent for Leather,” and “You’ve Got Another Thing Comin’.” That gives the record real weight as a live document. It shows Priest bridging eras without sounding nostalgic for a second. Everything is played like it matters.
