Commemorating the 50th anniversary of one of the most seminal concerts in KISStory – on August 20, 1976, KISS performed in front of their largest audience to date – 42,000+ fans – at Anaheim Stadium.
Originally recorded by Eddie Kramer on that KISStoric night, Eddie has newly mixed this concert from the original multi-track tapes! The 60+ min concert is pressed on 180-gram 2-LP black vinyl and includes an insert featuring liner note highlights from the Deluxe version, unreleased photos & memorabilia imagery.
KISS: Destroys Anaheim ’76 captures one of the most legendary performances of the original KISS era, recorded live at Anaheim Stadium on August 20, 1976 during the Destroyer Tour.
For decades, this show circulated among fans as a prized bootleg. Now it finally receives an official release, newly mixed by producer Eddie Kramer from the original multi-track master tapes. The result is a full-throttle document of KISS at their mid-’70s peak, playing to more than 42,000 people with the massive Destroyer stage production, fire, blood, smoke, confetti, guitar theatrics, and all four original members in full command.
Across 17 tracks, the set pulls together the essential early KISS catalogue: “Detroit Rock City,” “King Of The Night Time World,” “Strutter,” “Hotter Than Hell,” “Cold Gin,” “Shout It Out Loud,” “God Of Thunder,” “Rock And Roll All Nite,” “Deuce,” “Firehouse,” and “Black Diamond.” It also includes Ace Frehley’s guitar solo, Gene Simmons’ bass solo, and Peter Criss’ drum solo, giving the release the complete concert experience rather than a trimmed-down highlights package.
Pressed across two LPs, KISS: Destroys Anaheim ’76 is an essential release for collectors, longtime KISS Army members, and anyone who wants to hear the original lineup in one of its biggest and most important live settings. Officially released for the first time, this is 1976 KISS in full stadium-sized force.
