This is one of the more interesting recent unofficial KISS vinyl releases, capturing the first indoor concert from KISS Kruise VI aboard the Norwegian Pearl in November 2016. The theme of that year’s cruise was Creatures Of The Deep, and KISS went all-in: the band appeared in recreated Creatures Of The Night-era costumes with the famous tank stage set and dug unusually deep into the catalogue.
The performance is particularly desirable because it contains songs that KISS almost never played live. Gene Simmons performed “Radioactive” for the first time since 1979, Paul Stanley’s “Wouldn’t You Like To Know Me” received its live KISS debut, and “Rock And Roll Hell” returned to an electric KISS set for the first time since 1982. Alongside those rarities are Creatures Of The Night staples and the expected ’70s classics, making this far more interesting than another standard greatest-hits live set.
One important distinction: this is not the official KISS Kruise VI record given to passengers in 2016. That official Sixthman release was a signed red-vinyl 12-inch containing only “Creatures Of The Night” and “I Love It Loud”, and was distributed to approximately 2,400 Kruisers. This 2LP edition is a later unofficial/bootleg release containing the complete indoor concert.
