SUNN O))): Oracle (2LP Metallic Silver Vinyl)

The 2025 Record Store Day (RSD) edition of Sunn O)))’s Oracle EP is a notable reissue of their 2007 release, presented by Southern Lord Records. This limited edition is pressed on metallic silver vinyl and housed in a gatefold sleeve, accompanied by an exclusive 18×24” poster featuring artwork by sculptor Banks Violette .

Originally, Oracle was conceived as part of a collaboration between Sunn O))) and Violette for an installation at London’s Maureen Paley gallery. The exhibit featured two distinct rooms: one containing a black stage where the band recorded “Orakulum” with vocalist Attila Csihar confined inside a white coffin, and another displaying a white replica of the band’s stage setup, cast in salt and resin, with a destroyed black coffin. The audience was intentionally kept outside during the performance, only allowed entry afterward to evoke feelings of absence and loss.
