An Explanation Of The Murders In The Rue Morgue Tributes

Back in 1978, KISS released four solo albums. I was old enough to go and purchase Ace Frehley‘s album a couple of weeks after its release in September 1978. Now, we are not here to discuss the merits of those records, but on the back of each album, each member dedicated their record to the rest of the band.

For all of you who have purchased Murders In The Rue Morgue Vol I, you will have noticed a similar tribute at the back of the album. As a nod to my youth and my fledgling days of being a Rock N Roll and vinyl fan, I decided in very similar fashion, that each volume of the compilation series was to have its own little tribute.

So on the back of Volume I, you will have noticed the message TO: GENE, PAUL, PETER AND ACE.

It’s just a throwaway little tribute and I am astonished to see that not many have put together the connection.

As Volume II has taken on a more Alt, Grunge, Stoner feel, it was decided that the tribute would be TO: BILL, GEEZER, TONY AND OZZY.

This little tradition is going to continue into each and every compilation we release and we already have plans for Volume III.

Can you guess who?
