Six years after Circle of Snakes, Glenn Danzig returned in 2010 with an album that stripped away much of the industrial experimentation of his earlier work and plunged headlong into the filthy, blues-drenched heavy metal that established his reputation. Deth Red Sabaoth, Danzig’s ninth studio album, is an exercise in menace, built around enormous guitar riffs, primitive rhythms and that unmistakable voice, still dripping with gothic atmosphere and Elvis-inspired swagger.

Produced by Glenn Danzig himself, the album introduced former Type O Negative drummer Johnny Kelly to the band’s studio recordings, alongside longtime guitarist Tommy Victor of Prong. From the pounding aggression of “Hammer of the Gods” to the hypnotic darkness of “On a Wicked Night” and the sprawling, ritualistic “Pyre of Souls”, this is Danzig embracing the raw, organic sound of his earlier records without merely recreating them. The production is deliberately rough around the edges, allowing the music to breathe while retaining its oppressive heaviness.

Originally released in 2010, Deth Red Sabaoth returns in September 2026 through Cleopatra Records. This black vinyl reissue presents all eleven tracks of an album that marked a return to Danzig’s dark, blues-rooted metal sound.
