Released in 1992, their third studio album expanded upon the blues-soaked heavy metal of its predecessors, introducing a more theatrical, almost cinematic sense of darkness without sacrificing the band’s formidable power.
The opening assault of “Godless” sets the tone, but it’s the slower, more sinister compositions that give the album its enduring character. The monumental title track, the haunting “Sistinas” and the brooding “Heart of the Devil” reveal a band equally comfortable with crushing heaviness and gothic melancholy.
