We get so many submissions from bands here at Rue Morgue Records. I’d say on average it boils down to about 5 a month. Sometimes more. Of course, we don’t just take anyone on board. We listen carefully to the music submitted. We look closely at the band’s look and image which we deem just as important as the band’s sound. We pay attention to the professionalism on offer and we study their social media activities and numbers. If a band is too lazy to utilise today’s free promotional tools at their disposal, they really can’t be serious about all this hey?
When Riff Raiders contacted me the very first impression I got from them was their sheer determination and ultra professional display on offer. For one, they emailed me. I cannot stand being contacted for business matters via Facebook Messenger. Most of those go ignored. I don’t have the time to wade through messages to find out info. If you contact me via email, your message remains in my inbox until I have dealt with it.
The band was organised superbly. Promo graphics, promo photos, bio, music and other social media assets and collateral all done and dusted. All ready. All beautifully created. All good to go with minimal input from myself.
Oooh, I am going to enjoy working with these guys!
